Boruto Walks in His Father’s Footsteps!


The animated TV series Boruto, broadcasted by ADN – the leading European VOD platform for Japanese animation ( – was seen more than 13 million times, which means more than 317 000 viewing per episode, thus making it the top audience for ADN in 2017.

Meanwhile, Kana edition sold more than 220 000 copies of Boruto in 2017, over only 3 volumes, and are planning the release of 3 new ones in 2018.

Boruto is indeed walking in his father’s steps, with Naruto’s success unstoppable – with more than 530 000 copies of his adventures sold by Kana in France in 2017 (Source: GFK). This places the series in third position for most-sold comic series on the French market, just after One Piece and Asterix.

Boruto’s fame goes beyond publishing, with animated spin-off products turning up on the French market and four first licensees already. Kana will offer 2018-2019 school agendas; Animus Corp will commercialize knit caps and snapbacks ; Abyss Corp will develop accessories and a leather goods line ; and Tsume will make the collectors happy with a resin statue and PVC figures.

In total, more than 50 spin-off products will be available on the French Market by the end of 2018.
